OpenAI's agent now lives in ChatGPT Work, with a cloud browser that stays signed in between chats and turns a goal into finished documents.
In July 2026 OpenAI retired its Atlas browser and folded its earlier agent into ChatGPT Work. Work breaks a goal into steps, works across your apps and files, and hands back finished sheets, slides and documents. Since August its browser also runs in OpenAI's cloud, so jobs continue from the web or your phone.
It is strongest when the output is a document. It runs on OpenAI's models only, and full access to Work needs a paid plan.
